Samantha Ciarocco
Director of Trauma Services
Samantha Ciarocco is a 2014 Graduate of Simmons University of Social Work where her clinical focus was Trauma and Substance Use Disorders. She has previously worked at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in the Emergency Department and on the inpatient Addiction Consult Team as a clinical social worker. She joined Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program in August of 2019 as the clinical operations manager for the Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) program where she has assisted in implementing our Sublocade treatment program and telehealth services. In November of 2021 Samantha accepted the role of Director of Trauma Services at BHCHP. In this role, she focuses on developing trauma-informed care and services for patients; leading initiatives to support staff who are exposed to primary, secondary and vicarious trauma; and developing an internal critical incident response team. Sam also developed the mental health and substance use disorder treatment protocol for the Boston Hope field hospital during BHCHP’s COVID-19 response efforts. She has taught at many of the MGH buprenorphine and ‘Addiction in Nursing’ education events offered by the MGH Substance Use Disorder (SUDs) Initiative, has facilitated education events at Harvard Medical School and Boston Medical Center, and has sat on education panels offered by the MGH Institute of Health Professionals. Her clinical areas of interest include Psychological First Aid, community building and advocacy within the unhoused populations of Boston, and Harm Reduction.
