Tatiana Saenz
Tatiana is a nurse working across BHCHP with Respite, Family Team, HIV Team, and the JYP outpatient clinic. She previously led different initiatives to serve the diverse needs of BHCHP’s patient population as the HIV Nurse Case Manager, Co-Chair of BHCHP’s Immigrant Health Committee, and co-founded the Oasis clinic. She engaged in creating and promoting internal policies to best serve immigrant and non-immigrant patients through education initiatives such as the use of interpreters, know-your-rights workshops, and connecting patients to various legal and community services.
She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts graduating summa cum laude. She most recently graduated with a master’s in nursing informatics at CUNY to learn how to enhance access to health information and interoperability of health systems to improve patient health outcomes for vulnerable populations. Tatiana also brings awareness and knowledge of the health impact that public policy has on vulnerable populations. She presented her poster presentation, The Prevalence of Hepatitis C Among Patients at BHCHP, at the Nursing Informatics conference at the NYC H+H Metropolitan Hospital, sharing how nursing-based interventions help increase treatment for people with Hepatitis C.
