Mary Takach
Senior Health Policy Advisor
Mary Takach oversees the value-based care portfolio within the BHCHP Institute. She joined BHCHP in 2016 as the Senior Health Policy Advisor where she leads operational and strategic activities influenced by federal and state health policy, especially with regard to delivery system and payment reform initiatives. This includes BHCHP’s participation in the MassHealth Accountable Care Organizations, Behavioral Health Community Partner program, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Duals Demonstration. Prior to BHCHP, she worked as a Senior Program Director for the National Academy for State Health Policy where she led state delivery system reform research and technical assistance efforts. She was selected by the Commonwealth Fund and the Australian Department of Health as the 2014-2015 Australian American Fellow to do a comparative analysis of US and Australian primary care delivery systems. Mary has worked on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Assistant to two Congressmen, where she focused on health care, welfare, veterans’, and aging issues. Mary is a passionate advocate about the critical role primary care plays in reformed delivery systems.
