Haydee Quiñones Enjoys Helping Patients Problem-Solve

BHCHP’s patient benefits coordinator Haydee Quiñones loves her job because it involves helping people and problem-solving. Haydee has been with BHCHP for nearly 20 years, and works out of our medical clinic at the Pine Street Inn Men’s Shelter.
She registers patients as they come into the clinic and helps them navigate the confusing world of health insurance. She’s also able to translate for patients when needed and gets them ready to be seen by one of our clinicians. “I like to help the nurses,” she says.
“I love my job because I like to help people, it makes me happy,” she says. She often reminds patients of their appointments and which BHCHP clinic they need to go to. (We have 30+ clinics located around Greater Boston.) “I enjoy seeing people. I’m a people person” Haydee says, “and I want to help them get what they need.”
“I recommend BHCHP to other people. It’s a good place to grow. I work with wonderful people who are very understanding. If I need a day off, my supervisor will figure out a way to get that for me or to switch with another co-worker. My supervisor is terrific to work with. She trusts me, that I’m doing a good job.”
