Sox for Socks
Sox for Socks - July 9-10, 2011

Thank you Red Sox Nation for an incredible sixth year of Sox for Socks at Fenway Park!

Being back at Fenway Park this year we witnessed loyal fans, both of the team and Sox for Socks, march toward our collection tables intent on delivering their thoughtful donations.

This year Sox for Socks suporters donated 13,000 pairs of socks and just about $1,800, bringing our six-year total to more than 80,000 pairs and $9,000.

This socks will have an incredible impact on the lives of our patients!

Why Socks?
Access to shoes and socks is often limited for the homeless men and women living in shelters and on the streets. Rain-soaked feet, ill-fitting shoes, constant standing and diseases like diabetes take their toll on the feet of homeless people. Every day, BHCHP's nurses and physicians treat a huge range of foot ailments - from trench foot to skin infections, from frostbite to nail diseases.  The best way to prevent such conditions is to keep feet clean and dry – very difficult if you spend your days outside.

Clean, white socks are a staple of homeless health care and make a real difference in the lives of our patients and the quality of care that we can provide.

BHCHP would like to thank Gentle Giant Moving Company

for partnering with us again this year
