BHCHP Prepares for a Complicated Flu Season

The seasonal flu is always a challenge for people living on the street and in crowded shelters. The flu season is more complicated than usual this year because of:

the uncertainty about the extent of the H1N1 virus

the unusually large number of families living in crowded motel rooms.

BHCHP has met with area shelter directors to discuss concerns and to create an effective plan for staff and patients. In addition it has participated in the production and distribution of a video designed to educate shelter and clinic patients on how to limit the spread of the seasonal and H1N1 viruses.

As in the past, BHCHP will conduct flu clinics at all adult and family shelters throughout the city.
