"Medical respite care" is the name given to short-term medical and recuperative services for
homeless people far too ill for life in shelters but not sick enough to warrant a hospital stay.
Our 104-bed inpatient facility provides a safety net for homeless adults with complex health issues.
Because no other organization in the state offers similar services, the Barbara McInnis House, now located at Jean Yawkey Place, regularly operates at capacity.
Our program has been emulated in various cities across the U.S.
For more complete information on services provided and the admission process, please see our Barbara McInnis House brochure (PDF)
