BHCHP's 25th Anniversary Gala- April 26, 2010

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making our 25th Anniversary Gala such a memorable and spectacular evening!

As we reflect on the highlights of Gala, we believe that it was our “grateful patient” Joanne Guarino and her primary care doctor, Brian Klausner, who touched people the most. To see their relationship is to get a glimpse into the work that goes on throughout BHCHP every day…work that has been grounded in the same mission for the past 25 years. The pain and trauma that our patients have experienced would break the spirit of most, but when offered care based on a trusting relationship built over time, we have witnessed the most amazing of success stories. Joanne is a shining example:

"Dr. Brian and the staff at BHCHP helped me understand my illnesses. They walked me through every step of my cancer and my treatment. I always felt that I was treated with dignity. They have not only helped me medically, but they have also helped me to have the courage to get back into life. Yes, the cards dealt to me were hard but I had to get up and find a way to live my life and to make a difference. I now volunteer by helping others who were on the same path."

We remain amazed and forever grateful that over $400,000 was raised at the Gala.  But above and beyond the financial success of the evening, it was the sharing of what BHCHP means to people from all walks of life that left us feeling rich beyond measure.  From Joanne Guarino to Mary Richardson, Mike Barnicle to Dr. Larry Ronan, EMC to the Boston Red Sox – all have a deep and lasting connection to our mission.
